Pneumococcal Meningitis? side effects not symptoms 10 points for best answer?

I was wondering if anyone has a child that has had this disease or know someone that has had it.
My son got it a year ago when he was 19 months and i think he is now having some side affects like a slight learning disability hes not at all dumb far from it but there are a fue things that I'm worried about.

What are the side effects that your child is having?
I'm not expecting too many answers to this question as its not something that everybody gets its actually quite rare.

any form of meningitis can cause brain damage, if you suspect he has a deficit, then for heaven's sake get him to a specialist and have him tested.
